We're proud to announce a major update to Concept Feedback. In addition to a fresh new look, we've added a number of important and exciting features. Here's a quick summary of the big ones:
1. A Visual Upgrade
What changed? Almost everything. The concept grid is the biggest change - we pulled the sidebar, dedicating more space to concepts and making navigation quick, clean and simple (we hope!). We also revamped the profile pages and cleaned things up a little. Hopefully you find the new look easy on the eyes and easy to use.

2. Cash for the Best Reviews
When a premium concept is posted, you now have the opportunity to earn money for your expert advice. Once all of the reviews are in, the host has the ability to award the users whose reviews he or she found most helpful. Look for the Premium Concept seal in the upper-left corner, along with the Remaining Credits in the upper-right (if credits remain, you still have a chance to earn some).
We're offering this incentive to encourage insightful, well-educated reviews (an earlier post on giving better feedback). Each credit is worth $1, which you can you can cash out with a PayPal account (once you've earned $20 or more), or use to purchase premium concepts. Track your balance on your profile page and extract money with the "Withdraw" button. To make sure you have a chance to participate, sign up for our new concept feed or follow us on Twitter. May the best feedback win!
3. New Reputation Algorithm

Since we launched Concept Feedback almost a year ago, you've been able to add points to your Reputation Score by giving reviews, posting concepts, voting and the like. However, points alone aren't the best indicator of a members reputation. Often, points merely reflect how long, or how active, a user has been on the site.
The new formula exchanges quantity of contributions for quality, using a combination of reputation score, quality of concepts (including "likes" and "favorites"), percentage of reviews voted up and so on. Each member now has a title, ranging from Elite to Newbie, which, in addition to your reputation score, let's others know where you stand. While we realize that the system isn't perfect and we'll probably get some angry responses, we think, and hope you agree, that this new combination provides a more accurate reflection of user's reputation.
Feedback Welcome
To all of you who made suggestions, gave us criticism and provided input during this process - thank you, we couldn't have done it without you! As you continue to use the site and inevitably come across bugs, usability issues and things that just don't make sense, please let us know - a feedback site needs feedback too! You can email me direct (andrew [at] conceptfeedback [dot] com) or use the contact form.
A variety of additional features, tweaks and fixes will be implemented over the next few weeks, so stay tuned for more updates!

I think this is a great revision to the site. It's simple, straight forward and extremely clean. I'm sure there are a few things I'll run into along the way, but first look is great, well done!
Thanks Nate, that's what we're going for. We'll be making updates all week - we already have a long list - but please let us know if you come across anything. You probably know this site better than most of us :)
Hi Andrew,
Love the ideas and changes, am I correct in saying the site is supposed to be really rough right now (i.e. alignments out of whacks, some css off, etc.)? I can always send you a screenie of what I see (FF 3)..
Keep up the great work :)
Noel
Noel,
yeah, I'm still working on stuff. Can you send me screenshots of issues you find? I know of some, but it won't hurt to see more. Make sure you clear your cache and styles / js. My email is aurimas@devbridge.com. Thanks.
Ok...I thought I mind "review" the new concept feedback. I think there's some things that you should fix.
1. The "personal" bar in the header is a little messed up. It needs to be about 4px taller. (Here's a picture of what I'm talking about.)

2. On the pages where it lists the concepts out (e.g. http://www.conceptfeedback.com/concepts/new/) the concept images need some sort of separation. Its hard to tell where one image starts and stops. I would recommend some sort of a light great border or more padding between concepts.
3. The hover feature for concept thumbnails is cool but slightly annoying. What about making the hover have a slightly transparent background so you can still see the concept thumbnail behind it.
4. I love the slide down "review concept" feature. Awesome!
Ack...sorry for the double comment but...
I just noticed that the arrows in the header next to "concepts" and "members" are not very sharp and are not aligned very well.

Andrew,
Changes look really good. Congratulations.
I have a little concern regarding homepage though. Are you still working on it?
Cheers
Mike
Hey guys. This is a much-improved site since its first days.
One thing I find a little bothersome, in terms of navigation, is this: Let's say I click the "Show more concepts" button-link 5 times to browse concepts, and I find one near the bottom that I want to review. When I click the back button, rather than take me back to where I was on the previous page, I have to click the "Show more concept" button 5 times to get back to where I was browsing. Make sense?
Anyway, that's a minor annoyance. Great site. Keep up the good work.
i love the changes! looks like ill be here a lot more often now..^_^ congratulations! ^_^
however, ive had some problems regarding with the words in some areas...in firefox they show weird characters..just like in smashing magazine headlines..but in other browsers, it looks ok..i think the problem is in firefox but its worth telling you immediately.
Loving the new look to the website, i love how the concept gets so much screen space now.
Jackson - we know that usability issue and have plans set to restore the viewpoint to the "page" you were viewing before clicking on the concept ;)
Thanks everyone for the great comments! We're taking every one of them in to account. Some of the issues have already been resolved, and the rest are on the list for review. Keep the feedback coming!
Hi There,
I am new to Concept Feedback, just before the redesign took place, I have 1 remark to the redesign though. What was the motivation to expand the with of the comment section.
I really liked the uge amount of white space in the previous design, great Readability which you hardly encounter anywhere else. To my understanding, the amount of characters per line increased, and the space between lines shrinked, resulting in my opinion in less readability.
Ow and 1 thing, but maybe that's just me; is it a website on 'Web-Only Concepts' or not, the main Concepts posts are to my understanding mostly web oriented-maybe there are more possabilities? I would love to have some main genres to choose from, like there are categories, but they do not really pop-up in the concept overviews
The new update to CF is awesome! I love the new simplification - your site is even more easier and FUN to use.
Here's an idea I wanted to toss at you: a reputation history. It would be cool if we could see a simple 'history' page which summarizes each time our reputation increased, the date, and by how much.
I think its a g8 revamp accept that you have remove the "most popular designs" from the prev one..:)
Sander - it's mostly web, but it can be anything. When you're selecting the tags for your concept, you will see that there are logo designs, identity, illustration, etc.
Schwabe - excellent. And even better - there IS a reputation history. Go to your profile, look on the right, below your rep score.
Swatty - it's coming back ;)
